The Detroit Lions unveiled their brand new logo at Durham Sports today.  President Tom Lewand unveiled the new logo to mixed reaction from the fans in the crowd.  The reaction was not due to the poor design but the limited changes.

The Lions also unveiled their new jerseys today at the same press conference.  The color scheme is similar but the font is the major change.  The new font is a league exclusive and will be associated only with the Detroit Lions.

Quote of the Day:  Tom Lewand to a group of children he brought up on stage…

“Ever since you guys have been born, we haven’t been very good.  We are going to give you a football team you can be proud of, even though you shouldn’t be skipping school.”

The crowd at the press conference gave chants of “Curry! Curry!” and “Don’t draft Stafford!” when Lewand was speaking.  This is an on-going battle between two segments of Detroit Lions fans towards the upcoming draft.  Half want LB Aaron Curry and the other half want a new QB in Matt Stafford.  We’ll see Saturday who gets their way.
