The Detroit Lions have signed Georgia QB Matt Stafford one day before the 2009 NFL Draft.  Stafford and the Lions had been working out the details of a contract for days.

The Lions New Logo

The Detroit Lions unveiled their brand new logo at Durham Sports today.  President Tom Lewand unveiled the new logo to mixed reaction from the fans in the crowd.  The reaction was not due to the poor design but the limited changes.

Here is the 2009 Detroit Lions schedule.  It is no surprise that the Lions have no feature games except the annual Thanksgiving games.  I will give my thoughts on the strentgh of schedule once I give it a good look.

Matt Stafford Says He is #1

The NFL has released the Lions pre-season opponents for the 2009 season.
Week 1: Atlanta at Detroit
Week 2: Detroit At Cleveland
Week 3: Indianapolis at Detroit
Week 4: Detroit at Buffalo
Why do the Lions play Indy every year in pre-season?  The Lions should play all the worst teams so they have a fighting chance.
