The Detroit Lions need help in every aspect. Luckily they have many draft picks to help them out. Mock Draft 2009 (Round 1 to 3) Version 1 #1 QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma - Detroit’s QB situation is in disarray. Sam Bradford is a top talent and easily the best QB in the draft. Most of all he can step in and play in Week 1. #20 (from Dallas) Guard Duke Robinson, Oklahoma - The Lions OL is terrible and need to continue to be rebuilt. Gosder Cherilus was the first step last year. #33 MLB Brandon Spikes, Florida - Detroit needs serious help at MLB. Jordon Dizon is out of favor with the Lions at MLB. #65 CB Kevin Barnes, Maryland - The Detroit secondary is terrible. Kevin Barnes is the best CB left on the board. #85 DE Matt Shaughnessy, Wisconsin - Shaughnessy and Cliff Avril would be an excellent DE combo going into the future. Comments3 Comments so far |

I have been a lions fan for about 30 years and I never thought I would miss Wayne Fontes. They should have a sign above the locker room “Abandon Hope all ye Who Enter Here”. They will do as they have done in drafts past and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory (Charles Rodgers, Joey Harrington, Andre Ware, Chuck Long, etc,) but hope springs eternal for we the disgruntled. Luckily my children were born in NC and can pursue the life of normal football fans. Detroit fandom is like a club foot or a cleft palate, it’s simply a defect that you have to work around.
The need to take sam bradford oklahoma,james laranitus ohio state,and duke robinson oklahoma. This would improve them big time!
I have been a fan for 42 years. This past Thanksgiving almost did me in. If we pick receivers and horrible draft picks this year Im done. I watch other teams now more then I do the Lions. I have waited long enough.
I can do better then the Lions in the Draft. This is my final year.
