Detroit Lions 6-8 vs Kansas City Chiefs 4-10
Sunday December 23, 2007 @ 1:00
Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan
TV: CBS Sports with Gus Johnson and Steve TaskerÂ
- Lion Have 5 Alternates Selected for the Pro Bowl
After starting the season 6-2 and the proceeding to lose 6 straight games it came as no surprise that when the NFC Pro Bowl representatives were named on Tuesday that no Detroit Lions were selected. On Wednesday 5 Detroit Lions were named as alternates to the team. They include:
- QB Jon Kitna
- CÂ Dominic Raiola
- DT Shaun Rogers
- LB Ernie Sims
- WR Roy Williams
Â
These players might get called to make a trip to the Pro Bowl if the players selected to the Pro Bowl at their position withdraw from the Pro Bowl for any reason. WR Roy Williams has been placed on Injured Reserve and will not be able to play in the Pro Bowl.
Detroit is home this week to play the Kansas City Chiefs. The Lions after getting completly routed by the San Diego Chargers hope to avoid another 10 loss season by beating the Chiefs. Detroit if they lose to Kansas City, with a trip to Green Bay on tap for week 17, will be destined to lose 10 games for the 7 straight season.

Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger thinks the Lions will play better at home this week. I am thinking they see this as one opportunity to win a game and end the possibility of losing their last 8 games. Nobody thinks they will be able to win week 17 in Green Bay. Kansas City is one of 3 NFL teams that have not won a game in the Season’s 2nd Half. Detroit and Baltimore are the others. At least one team will win a game this week, lets hope it is Detroit.  If Detroit can get by Kansas City everyone will hope that the Lions will go up to Green Bay and beat the Packers to finish at 8-8. I just hope they don’t finish 6-10, which would be the 7th straight season with at least 10 losses in the Matt Millen era. Millen’s teams have never finished with less then 10 losses.
