Detroit Lions 6-7 vs San Diego Chargers 8-5
Sunday December 16, 2007 @ 4:15

- ex-Lion QB Joey Harrington says Petrino acted like a Coward
Atlanta Falcon QB Joey Harrington like most of his teamates and owner Arthur Blank are upset the way former Falcon Coach Bobby Petrino left the team. Joey said that Petrino did not act like a man but a coward. Here is the exact quote:
“When we saw him doing his press conference at Arkansas, that’s what I think brought up the anger to have him talk about family, about team and about commitment, and then to come in here and have a form letter at your locker,” quarterback Joey Harrington, a former Lion, said.. “That’s not how a man acts. That’s how a coward acts.”

Detroit travels to San Diego to play the Chargers. The Lions coming off a crushing loss to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday hope to get back on track by beating the Chargers. Detroit has never won in San Diego and in fact have not beaten the Chargers since 1978. San Diego can clinch the AFC West Division title with a win.

Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger thinks the Lions will probably be a much different team this week in San Diego then we saw against the Dallas Cowboys. Detroit has not played well on the Road their last two games. I expect another performance like the Minnesota game. I am sure I will be asking myself midway through the 2nd Quarter, where is the team that almost beat Dallas? RB LaDainian Tomlinson will most likely be able to run wild against the Lions and have a lot of success with screens and swing passes. In my view not much hope for the Lions this week. When the Lions were 6-2 I warned that the schedule was daunting, but even I didn’t think the Lions would lose 6 in a row. Now it seems like a foregone conclusion the Lions will come back to Ford Field week to play the Kansas City Chiefs with a 6 game losing streak. Shows you how much I know. Hope I am wrong and they win and keep hope alive.

I’m reciprocating the kind words…great post (especially the part about LT being able to run all over your DST); however, as a long-time Chargers fan I worry about games that we should win, because history dictates those are the games destined to worsen my ulcers.
I’m going to link my pregame post to yours as well!
Hi Charger_girl, thanks for the comment. Seems like you have the same concern as I do. The Lions seem to lose the games all the experts say they will win easy. Only chance I see is if the injuries get to the Chargers and the Lions play desperate because their playoff hopes are dying.
