- NFL Power Rankings for Week 14
The Detroit Lions Power Rankings are what are to be expected from a team that has lost its NFC Playoff hopes and suffered their 3rd Rout of the Season. Each of the routs were giving by a team the Lions are either ahead of or tied with in the NFC Playoff race currently. The Week 14 NFL Power Rankings by the entities that do the Weekly NFL Power Rankings are here. Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger is providing this NFL Power Rankings post as a regular weekly feature during the NFL Regular Season. I am using the same 5 NFL Power Rankings sites each week. The 5 are:
- Fox Sports NFL Power Rankings
- ESPN NFL Power Rankings
- Cold Hard Football Facts NFL Power Rankings
- CBS Sportsline Power Rankings
- Peter King Monday Morning QB - SI

Peter Schrager has the Lions in a free fall all the way down to 21st, down 7 places from week 13 NFL Power Rankings. Schrager says the Lions will be lucky to finish at .500:
So much for Jon Kitna’s off-season 10-win prediction. Losers of four straight games with division leaders Dallas, San Diego, and Green Bay up ahead on the schedule, Detroit will be fortunate to finish .500 this season.

ESPN NFL Power rankings are developed by ESPN NFL staff writers John Clayton, Len Pasquarelli, Matt Mosley, Jeffri Chadiha and Mike Sando; Scouts Inc. Insider Jeremy Green; and ESPN.com NFL senior editor Mike McAllister.
The ESPN NFL Staff dropped the Lions down to 18th this week a fall of only 4 spots from 14th in the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings. They state the obvious that the Lions will lose to the Cowboys and QB Jon Kitna’s 10 win prediction will be gone.
A month ago, the Lions’ game against the Cowboys looked like a potential playoff preview. Now it just looks like another Lions loss as they continue to unravel after a 6-2 start. Jon Kitna’s 10-win guarantee will soon be dead.

Jonathon Comey has dropped the Lions down to 20th in the Week 14 NFL Power Rankings, a fall of 5 places from the Week 13 Power Rankings. Comey believes somebody should be fired:
The sight of Lion players exchanging hugs with Vikings during a third-quarter review delay Sunday – while their playoff hopes were being pummeled into submission – should be enough to make someone lose their job at season’s end.

Pete Prisco moved the Lions down to 16th in the NFL Power Rankings this week from 13th in Week 13. He says the Lions are what we expect:
They have lost four consecutive games to turn a promising season into what we expect from the Lions. Losing Roy Williams for the year won’t help.

King did not include the Lions in his Fine 15 this week. Of course you remember he felt the Lions were frauds after the Redskins beat them in Week 5. Guess the Lions are who King thought they were.
Detroit comes home this Sunday to play the Dallas Cowboys at Ford Field. Just a month ago the NFL ‘Experts’ were talking about the Playoff implications this game would hold. Not any such talk now regarding the Lions.
