Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger has put the Local Detroit Media selections for the game on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings in this post. I have also included the ESPN experts picks and MSNBC’s Jay Novacek’s choice. At the end of the post I offer my choice for the game which usually is not worth much.
Here is what I found in the Local Detroit Media, please note I was unable to secure the Detroit News selections this week:

Mitch Albom: Detroit
Nicholas J. Cotsonika: Minnesota
Drew Sharp: Detroit
Here are the Picks from ESPN and MSNBC.

The ESPN crew had 3 pick the Lions and 5 taking the Vikings. The brave ones that took the Lions are Chris Mortensen, Sean Salisbury and Eric Allen. Seth Wickersham, Merrill Hoge, Ron Jaworski, Mark Schlereth and Mike Golic taking the safe path and choosing the Vikings.

Jay picks the Lions again this week after taking them on Thanksgiving. We know how that one turned out. He thinks the Vikings can’t win 3 in a row:
Two things: It’ll be hard for Minnesota to win three games in a row. The Vikings played great last week, but they haven’t shown that kind of consistency all season.
And the Lions should respond to last week’s loss. They’ll look at the film and figure out what adjustments they need to make. They’ll be able to move the ball against Minnesota and get a win.
- Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger’s pick
I said earlier in the week that I had a good feeling about how the Lions would play in Minnesota. After losing 3 games in a row the Lions are a desperate team and must win if they want to keep their NFC Playoff hopes alive. The betting public has moved the line a full point in the last 2 days and that usually is an indication of how the game will turn out. Of course the Lions have not won in Minnesota since 1997 losing 10 games in a row there. I just think that the Lions will be out to prove that they are not the ‘Same Old Lions’ and will figure out a way to stop the Vikings running backs Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. If the Lions do that and keep QB Jon Kitna from getting sacked they can win the game. I am going out on a shaky limb, but I believe the Lions can do it. Make it a close game with the Lions winning 30-24. If I am right the Lions come home at 7-5 and the Playoff hopes are alive for another week. Detroit plays the NFC #1 Playoff Seed Dallas Cowboys next week at Ford Field.Â
