- NFL Power Rankings for Week 13
The Detroit Lions not only are falling out of Playoff contention but are dropping after 3 straight losses, in all the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings by the entities that do the Weekly NFL Power Rankings. Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger is providing this NFL Power Rankings post as a regular weekly feature during the NFL Regular Season. I am using the same 5 NFL Power Rankings sites each week. The 5 are:
- Fox Sports NFL Power Rankings
- ESPN NFL Power Rankings
- Cold Hard Football Facts NFL Power Rankings
- CBS Sportsline Power Rankings

Peter Schrager left the Lions at 14th, no change this week from week 12 NFL Power Rankings. Schrager believes the Lions have no hope for 10 wins and is very lucky to still have Playoff hope:
The Lions lost their third straight game on Thursday, dropping to 6-5 on the year. With the Giants, Redskins, Eagles, and Cardinals all losing on Sunday — the Lions lucked out and avoided really slipping from the NFC Wild Card picture. Once 6-2 with 8 games left, Detroit once looked like a shoe-in to finish above .500. To do so now, they’ll have to win three of five games in matchups against Dallas, Green Bay, San Diego, Minnesota, and Kansas City. It won’t be easy. As for Jon Kitna’s off-season 10-win prediction? It’s not looking good. Winning four of those five could be darn near impossible.

ESPN NFL Power rankings are developed by ESPN NFL staff writers John Clayton, Len Pasquarelli, Matt Mosley, Jeffri Chadiha and Mike Sando; Scouts Inc. Insider Jeremy Green; and ESPN.com NFL senior editor Mike McAllister.
The ESPN NFL Staff moved the Lions down to 14th this week a drop of 2 spots from 12th in the Week 12 NFL Power Rankings.

Jonathon Comey has dropped the Lions down to 15th in the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings, dropping the Detroiters 3 spots.

Pete Prisco moved the Lions down to 13th in the NFL Power Rankings this week from 12th in Week 12. He talks about lack of defense and protection for QB Jon Kitna:
Catch them, they’re falling. Hard. They have big issues on defense that show up every week. Plus, they can’t protect Jon Kitna.

King left the Lions in his last spot in the Fine 15, down 1 place from Week 12 Fine 15. King thinks the Lions must outscore opponents and Kitna must be mistake free:
To be a factor down the stretch, the Lions are going to have outscore teams, which means Jon Kitna is going to have to play relatively mistake-free football. Uh-oh. Last three games: four, three and four sacks taken. And two, three and one interceptions thrown.
NFL Week 13, Detroit travels to Minnesota to play the Vikings. RB Adrian Peterson, leading the NFL in rushing even though he has missed the last 2 games with a knee injury, is expected to play. Detroit has not won in Minnesota since 1997. The Lions are playing a game in December that has NFC Playoff meaning which has not happened since 2000 or before Matt Millen was hired by the Lions.
