- Detroit Lions vs Arizona Cardinals NFL Week 10 - Tidbits

Detroit Lions 6-2 vs Arizona Cardinals 3-5
Sunday November 11, 2007 @ 4:15 University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona
TV: Fox with Ron Pitts, Tony Boselli and Kevin McCabe reporting
- 2nd Half of NFL Season Starts in the Desert
Detroit starts their 2nd half of the season in Glendale, Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium, at the site of Super Bowl XLII battling the Arizona Cardinals. Sticking with Coach Marinelli’s ‘one snap at a time’ the players are only focusing on the Cardinals and not thinking about the seemingly difficult 2nd half schedule that the Lions face.
“It’s definitely all about Arizona,” said defensive end Jared DeVries. “There are no easy wins in this league and as far as I’m concerned and this team is concerned, we don’t care or know who we play next.”

- Cardinal Coach Whisenhut Compliments Lions Defense
During the Detroit media conference call with Arizona Coach Whisenhunt this week, Whisenhunt had many complimentary things to say about the Lions defense. Here are some of the highlights I heard:
- They are playing very fast all of them the defensive lineman, linebackers and backs
- Playing with confidence, hustling flying around making a lot of plays
- Playing with great tempo, tremendous amount of hustle especially on plays away
- These things are showing up on tape
- He went on to talk about Shaun Rogers
- He is a very disruptive player
- has excellent quickness for a big athletic player
- does a very good job in Detroit’s scheme

- Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger thoughts about the Desert Battle
The Lions are trying to get to 7-2 for the first time since 1993 which is the last time Detroit won in Arizona and they are 0-4 since then. The Cardinals come into the 2nd half of the season in somewhat of a desperate mode with a 3-5 record. Arizona has lost 3 consecutive games and are chasing the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. Ex-Lion Free Safety Terrence Holt, who played 4 years with the Lions, will be trying to beat the Lions this Sunday as a Free Safety for the Cardinals. Detroit while amassing a 6-2 record has only played 1 team so far with a winning record, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7. The overall winning percentage of the opponents the Lions have faced through Week 9 is .421% ,
