Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger once again has picked up the Local Detroit Media selections for the game on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. I have also included a little national perspective by getting the ESPN experts picks and MSNBC’s Jay Novaceks choice.
Here is what I found in the Local Detroit Media:
Source: Detroit News
Mike O’Hara: Detroit
Rob Parker: Denver
Terry Foster: Detroit
Bob Wojnowski: Denver
Source: Detroit Freep Press
Mitch Albom: Detroit
Nicholas J. Cotsonika: Detroit
Drew Sharp: Detroit
Here are the Picks from ESPN and MSNBC.
Source: ESPN Week 9 Picks
The ESPN crew ended up with only Chris Mortensen and Eric Allen picking the Broncos with the remaining 6 experts sticking with the home team expecting them to get to 6-2.
Source: Jay Novacek MSNBC
Novacek for one of the few times this season has picked the Lions. Probably not a good sign. He believes the Lions are improving and the Broncos have a tough task coming off a tough defeat on Monday Night.
The Lions are an improved team. They can move the ball and score in bunches, and they showed balance last week by running the ball. Detroit is a team that can get on a roll.
This is a tough game for the Broncos, who have to rebound from an emotional overtime loss last Monday to the Packers, then win a tough game on the road. Denver hasn’t shown yet that it’s tough mentally.
If you read yesterday’s post you know that your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger believes the Lions will prevail in a grind it out game. Probably a very close game that the Lions win at the end 27-24. If they do win they will be 6-2 at the 1/2 way point of the NFL season and will be heading to Arizona next week to challenge the Cardinals.
