  • WR Mike Furrey message for Media
  • Detroit Lions WR Mike Furrey a little frustrated with the media questions, about the Lions lack of consistency, right after the Lions victory over the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday shouted a message as he was parting the locker room:

“The Lions are 4-2, media!” Furrey shouted to no one in particular. “You can kiss my ass!”

On Monday a couple of his teammates indicated he was just fired up and right after a game is a very emotionally charged time and Mike didn’t mean anything by the comment.

Detroit travels to Chicago to meet the Bears at Soldier Field in a NFC North Division game on Sunday. After the win against Tampa Bay last weekend Detroit has the opportunity to go on the road and win an important game against a division rival. If the Lions are successful they will keep their hopes of catching the NFC North leading Green Bay Packers. Chicago has undergone a resurgence since the Lions played them in late September. Led by new QB Brian Griese the Bears have beaten the Packers and Philadelphia Eagles sandwiched around a home loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Chicago figures to win against the Lions and be 4-4 heading into their bye week and ready to make a run at a playoff spot. Bear DT Tommie Harris had this to say to the Media after the Bears beat the Eagles.

“Detroit don’t come into Chicago and win in our stadium. We have to be 4-4 going into our (week off). We have to be. … I’m going to do whatever I have to do for us to be 4-4.”
