Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger has gathered up the NFL Week 5 Predictions for the Matchup between the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins scheduled for Sunday October 7, 2007 @ 1:00 in Washington at FedEx Field. The Redskins are the pick for most everybody. Probably that is based on the Lions 0-20 record in Washington and the 0-9 record against ’Skins Coach Joe Gibbs and the rout the Lions suffered in Philadelphia 2 weeks ago.

The ESPN crew, for the 3rd straight week, had just 2 picking the Lions to win, Eric Allen and Seth Wickersham. The other 6 experts opted for the Redskins.

Jay picks the Redskins but doesn’t really have any strong points. He just writes that he thinks the Redskins will regroup and come out on top.

You know that Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger believes the Redskins will win easily and cover the 3 and 1/2 point Las Vegas spread. The Lions just have so much trouble on the road against everybody not to mention a quality NFL team. Detroit has the only a .302 winning percentage on the road since the 1970 NFL - AFL merger. Only Tampa Bay is worse at .295.   Make it 34-17 Washington. Of course I hope that I am completely wrong and somehow this Lion team is not all talk and are actually a quality NFL team themselves. If they are, they will be 4-1 heading into a Week 6 bye.
