- Detroit Lions vs Philadelphia Eagles Sunday September 23, 2007 @ 1:00 pm at Lincoln Financial Field
Your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger has wagered on NFL Football games a ‘few’ times in his life. Ok, more than a few times but I have only lost money a few times. With that wagering experience to pull from I think I know a Trap game when I see one.
 For your consideration:
- Lions are 2-0 and Riding High
- Eagles are 0-2 and just got beat on Monday Night Football in front of a National TV audience
- Eagles have injuries to a key players who might miss the game,  RB Brian Westbrook and CB Lito Sheppard
- Lions have a key player that will not miss the game, QB Jon Kitna, after being injured last week
- Eagles are ‘Desperate’ to win a game and are at Home
- Lions are not ‘Desperate’ to win a game and are on the Road
- Recent History with Lions shows they do not handle success well as evidenced by them not having even a modest 3 game winning streak since the 2000 season
Some More Items to Consider:
- Eagles Coach Andy Reid is 11-2 against teams from the NFC North including 6-0 at Home
- Eagles have a current 4 game winning streak versus the Lions including a 58-37 whipping in the 1995 playoffs
- Eagles started 0-2 in 2003 but won the season’s 3rd game, which turned the season around, and they went on to a 12-4 record and their 3rd straight NFC Championship game
- Eagles are wearing Throwback uniforms from the 1933 season and if you haven’t seem them check them out here
So, to your ‘Lion Eyes’ blogger it all adds up to not only an Eagles win but an easy cover of the 6.5 point spread as the Eagles spring the Trap.
So far in the Poll below over 60% of the voters are picking the Lions to win. I think they are Trapped, but you can still make your vote count. Make sure you check back tomorrow for the NFL Game Preview in this spot.
