Dewayne White named NFC Player of the Week
Detroit Lions Defensive End Dewayne White was named the NFC Player of the Week by the NFL on Wednesday. White, during the Lions 36-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders, contributed a sack, an interception, 7 tackles and 2 forced fumbles. White returned the interception 28 yards to setup a 4th quarter field goal by Jason Hanson to increase the Lions margin to 8 points.

White spread credit to his teammates for the NFL Award at practice on Wednesday:
“It was our whole defensive line, a whole team effort,” White said. “You could have given it to a number of guys for what they did to help me get this award. When you look at an individual, it’s never just me.
“It’s always something causing something for me to get the effect of it. I wish it could go to all four of them.”

Roster Changes
A roster change was made by the Lions on Wednesday as a result of the mild High Ankle sprain suffered Sunday by T.J. Duckett. Running back Aveion Cason was resigned and Wide receiver Brandon Middleton was released. Duckett is expected to be out 2-4 weeks.
As always any Detroit Lions comments are welcome and encouraged.
